What "Functional Fitness" Means to Me

I started CrossFit in 2015. I was living in Virginia working as a firefighter and was looking for a more structured workout regimen with functional movements relevant to my job. I took a long hiatus, moved back across the country and found CFPG to start pursuing my fitness goals again.
My biggest goals when getting back into CrossFit were to build strength and endurance and avoid injury. I am definitely stronger, healthier. I've knocked minutes off runs in the Oakland hills.
From the minute I stepped into the gym everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The workouts are consistently challenging and the coaches really care about your individual progress. The morning crew makes 6 am workout way more fun, too!
