Fitness Background: I was a high school swimmer and dabbled in club volleyball in college. My interest in fitness & coaching piqued when I worked as a trainer in the adapted physical department at my college where I learned how to adapt sport and movement for students with various ability levels. After college, I ran a handful of half marathons, my first and last marathon in 2013, spun, and boxed until I found Crossfit.
I found Crossfit in 2013 after exploring the Los Angeles fitness community and getting lousy results and spending lots of money. I was immediately hooked by the supportive community, which helped after being obliterated by my first WOD "Karen". Since then I have been hooked and enjoy the journey towards being a better and healthier athlete while giving back to the awesome community.
Relevant Degree/Certifications: CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Why CrossFit? The community. No matter what fitness level you think you are at, Crossfit is extremely accessible and scalable. This brings together a diverse group of individuals who work hard and hold each other accountable. What does that mean for me? An awesome place where I can sweat, socialize, and break out a few dance moves.
Favorite WOD: Murph, it's deceivingly simple
Favorite non-CF activity: Volunteering with local youth & eating my way through the Bay
Favorite cheat meal: Ice Cream
