Just one short year ago we opened our doors with the goal of creating a community of like minded individuals coming together to workout and have fun. We wanted to create and foster an environment that was welcoming and relaxed. Programming that was challenging, yet safe, and that focused on proper form and movement patterns.
Little did we know how successful the CFPG community would become!

Immediately we will begin our 2nd year with the CrossFit Open and an intramural style competition amongst all the CFPG classes. What better way to represent your class and show your fellow members what class is best!

When is all this happening?
Friday Night Lights for 16.1 will be our last workout in our current location. This is appropriate as 15.1 was our official first workout at CFPG one year ago.
We will be having a moving WOD on Saturday February 27th. The CFPG team, with anyone who wants to help, will be working through the weekend to get the gym complete so we can run our full normal schedule starting Monday, February 29th.
We are very excited and cannot wait for the move. We will be doing a lot of planning internally, but members and classes will not be effected and will run as normal leading up to the moving WOD Saturday.

The 2016 CrossFit Open begins on February 25th (registration opens Jan 14th). As we get closer, we'll be posting more info about why you should participate in the Open. You can look forward to fun nights at the gym, a mental and physical challenge, and some friendly competition. As we begin the New Year, we encourage you to start crafting your goals for 2016.
Power Grid athletes have all sorts of reasons for why we choose CrossFit; the camaraderie, the competitive yet friendly spirit, the tough workouts. Some of us just get excited we've found a group of our peers who enjoy fantasizing about donuts as much as we do (even if we're all talk and rarely end up EATING the donuts).
The common theme in all of our answers, however, is that we want to be better. Sure, we want to be better at CrossFit skills like pull-ups, and handstands, and snatches. But much more often, we want to be better at Life (this one, not this one). Your goal might be to lose weight or gain more muscle or maybe your goal might be improved mental acuity. Regardless, you want to be a better version of yourself.
With this, it's time we take inspiration from our Power Grid motto: "Strive Valiantly. Dare Greatly." You will strive to complete this physical challenge, and you will dare to do things you didn't think you could accomplish. We are going to ask you all to compete in the Open this year because it's going to push you to your limit. This is called Threshold Training and it's one of the reasons CrossFit work so well.
The Open is one workout per week for five weeks. Every member of the gym will complete the Open workout on Fridays during our normal classes. We are encouraging every single athlete to sign up.
If you show up to the gym over the next two months, trust us, you will be ready. To get you excited, look forward to Open specific programming for the next seven Fridays leading up to the first open workout on February 26th. Tomorrow's first Friday Night Open workout is...
